KAUNASOPORTO Exchange
Journeys of Art and Contemporary Culture

In partnership with MenoPARKAS, Ideias Emergentes coordinated, produced, curated and received the Lithuanian cultural and artistic manifestations, through exhibitions, performances, conference and presented Lithuanian artists in various locations in the city, North axis of Santa Catarina.

A set of institutions of artistic creation and production welcomed exhibitions, dance-theater, cinema, video, thus, contributing, for a new centrality of, arts, architecture, design, cultural events. Ideias Emergentes was also responsible for the design and communication of the event.

Since 2005, they have been developed several artistic projects in Porto and in Kaunas, having in the KaunasOporto exchange_Contemporary Art and Culture Journey its highlight. In Lithuania, the event took place from 15 May to 10 June 2009 in Kaunas and Vilnius. In Porto, Portugal, the event took place from 22 May to 20 June 2010 at Espaço IMERGE, Galeria ASVS, Fábrica Social, Galeria 787 and Teatro Helena Sá e Costa.

Ideias Emergentes presented a diversified program that showed in the portuguese edition in Kaunas some aspects of culture and contemporary Portuguese art, such as visual arts, photography, cinema, illustration, music, as well as the presentation of the culture and history of the city of Porto.

With the participation of Portuguese artists Lúcia David, Alberto Plácido, José Carlos Teixeira, Isabel Monteiro, Hugo Paquete (Performance), Luís Mendonça (Ilustration), in conjunction with the Embassy of Portugal in Lithuania, a film exhibition by the director Manuel de Oliveira was presented, and in the context of a partnership with the Vila do Conde Short Film Agency, a film cycle by New Portuguese Directors was presented.
