Magic Carpets is a platform co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, with 16 European partners. It is focused on the mobility of emerging artists to work in social art areas in the research and implementation of new productions with local artists and communities.
In the first year of 2022-2025 cycle, Ideias Emergentes hosted artists in residencies embedded in Contextile 2022 – Contemporary Textile Art Biennial, under the theme “Re-Make”.
Adelina Ivan (Romania), Indré Spryté (Lithuania) and Pedro Bastos (Portugal) were the three artists in residence in Guimarães, working with the community of elderly homes of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Guimarães.
